From the beauty products created through Shiseido Research Center’s open innovation program “fibona,” which aims to co‑create “what does not yet exist,” “Fluid Serum,” formulated with the highest concentration of Glycylglycine in Shiseido’s history, will be released. This product utilizes Shiseido’s proprietary Fluid Crystallization Suppression Technology and contains Glycylglycine, which is known for helping refine skin texture and make pores appear less noticeable. The product will be available for advance release starting on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, through Makuake, the support‑purchase service operated by Makuake, Inc. In addition, the product will be available for purchase as a limited‑edition item at the fibona Lab located on the first floor of Shiseido Beauty Park starting on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Shiseido’s Proprietary “Fluid Crystallization Inhibition Technology” Enables High-Concentration Formulation

Glycylglycine is known to deliver greater skin benefits when formulated at higher concentrations; however, increasing its concentration can lead to crystallization of the ingredient. When crystallization occurs on the skin, optimal efficacy cannot be achieved, and the sensory experience may also be compromised.
To pursue higher concentrations, Shiseido focused on ionic liquids that surpass conventional solubility limits and developed its proprietary Fluid Crystallization Inhibition Technology. This technology prevents crystallization even on the skin, ensuring that the ingredient is delivered effectively. As a result, it provides intensive texture- and pore-focused care as part of daily skincare.
